Put quick frozen laminaria into a pan of cold water, bring water to boil and cook for 10-15 minutes. Repeat this for three times. Boiled this way laminaria loses its bad smell. Boil canned laminaria for 5minutes after water boils. Dried laminaria is to be pre-soaked in cold water for about 10-12 hours and then it should be boiled for 20-30 minutes.

The ingredients of seaweed soup
Beef - 300 grams
Seaweed - 200 grams (dried) or 400 grams of canned
Potatoes - 4-5 medium-sized
Carrots - 1 large or 2 small
Onion - 1 head
Sour cream - 1 / 4 cup
Garlic - 2 cloves
Celery - 1 / 2 pcs.
Butter - a tablespoon
Parsley, dill, black pepper, bay leaf and salt - to taste.

Cooking seaweed soup
Boil the beef in a 5-gallon pot of water, put it out to cool, slice and return back to the pot. Brown the onions and carrots and add them to a saucepan with beef. Peel and chop the garlic - add to the soup. Add roots, herbs and spices. Cook for another 10 minutes.
If you use dried seaweed - add it before adding brown onions. If you use canned seaweed, than add it at the same time when you add seasonings.
